How to Hire and Scope a Digital Agency Project in Pakistan

Business owner evaluating a digital agency proposal
Before hiring a digital agency or service provider in Pakistan, define the business problem before choosing the solution. A request such as “we need marketing” is too broad. A better scope explains the current situation, target audience, desired outcome, existing assets, deadline and any important technical limitations. A clear starting brief allows different providers to quote against the same requirement and makes proposals easier to compare. Ask what is included, what is excluded and what the final handover will contain. For websites this may include source files, access credentials, analytics setup and documentation. For marketing it may include campaign setup, creative quantities, reporting frequency and ownership of advertising accounts.
Define Deliverables Before the Project Starts

Payment terms should also match milestones whenever possible. A milestone gives both sides a clear point for review and approval. Avoid vague promises such as guaranteed rankings, guaranteed viral reach or guaranteed sales because many business outcomes depend on factors outside a service provider’s control.

Confirm the scope, delivery dates, communication method, revision limits, ownership of final files and what happens after launch. Keeping these points in writing protects both the client and the provider and makes it much easier to resolve changes without confusion.

Evaluate an agency through evidence, scope and ownership

Before comparing quotations, prepare a short brief describing the business problem, target audience, required deliverables, deadline, available assets and decision maker. Agencies cannot price the same project consistently when each proposal is based on different assumptions.

Review relevant examples and ask what the agency actually delivered. Confirm who will perform the work, how communication will happen and how progress will be demonstrated. A credible proposal should explain exclusions, revision limits, dependencies and the information required from the client.

The agreement should state payment milestones, ownership of source files, licences, hosting responsibility, account access and the handover process. Keep advertising, analytics, domain and hosting accounts under appropriate business ownership. Avoid providers who guarantee rankings, hide account access or cannot explain their measurement method.
